Founder and Director

Let Us Play! Foundation & Junior 2K.

Developed and founded a four-day celebrity sports camp for teen girls launched in 1996 in cooperation with the City of Jacksonville, United Way of Northeast Florida, Nike, and the National Football League on the campus of the University of North Florida. The camp used sports as a vehicle to build self-confidence and open pathways to higher education.

Every girls was outfitted with a t-shirt, new NIKE running shoes and a Play Book created in partnership with NIKE. Professional female athletes participated as guest speakers, and coaches throughout the week. Every camp closed with a banquet hosted by Outback Steak House, a guest speaker and a highlight video of the week’s activities.

After the first year, the camp expanded beyond Jacksonville — Leah worked with Nike and the NFL to replicate the program with six other NFL franchises. After the camp’s sixth year, the Let Us Play Junior 2K was created. This 2-kilometer run, held inside the Jaguars’ football stadium, was the first children-only fun run of its kind in Jacksonville, drawing over 3,000 young participants annually. The run featured a dedicated 30-minute TV special that aired the following morning, with sponsorship revenue generated through sold ad space. All proceeds supported an endowed scholarship at the University of North Florida for camp participants.
